Director Supply Chain Management USA

Responsibility

The Director of Supply Chain Management (SCM) leads the effort to create efficiencies in sourcing, cost, procurement and logistics of materials and technology for the purpose of building Solar Plants. This position requires that priorities are placed on Product Quality Control, safety, cost and timeliness. The Director of SCM will standardize the Planning, Supplier contract negotiation, and sourcing of new product technologies for the US market in conjunction with Phoenix Solar AG.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) THE
FOLLOWING:

• Adhere to required laws and regulations related to manufacturing and procurement of Solar products
• Responsible for Quality Control of Supply and material goods and services
• Ensure continuity of supply and material flow to support Phoenix Solar projects
• Implement Cost control strategies throughout the supply chain roadmap
• Establish best practices, processes and procedures for Supply Chain planning and logistics
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that are aligned with Phoenix Solar AG
• Negotiate Contracts and Supply Agreements
• Source new suppliers to be included in the preferred vendor/supplier matrix
• Maintain existing vendor/supplier relationships
• Participate with Phoenix AG in supplier selection activities including audits of suppliers and material goods
• Communicate regularly with Operations and Engineering team to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Build and manage a team of supply chain professionals

Requirements

Education:
• B.S. or B.A. in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management. MBA or other Masters Degree preferred
Experience:
• 6+ years supply chain management experience in Operations in Construction manufacturing or the Solar
industry required
• Experience working within the subsidiary of a European company preferred
Certification/Training/Languages:
• Knowledge and experience with ISO9000 requirements and their deployment
• Fluent in English. Working knowledge of German language a plus
Business Tools:
• Experience with the deployment and use of ERP software
• Experience with Primavera and AutoCad a plus
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
• Familiarity of CRM software (Phoenix Solar Inc. uses Sugar)

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL

• Office environment
• Up to 30% domestic and international travel

• Proven track record in value-engineering cost reduction
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Exceptional ability to solve problems and coordinate with global team members
• Due to the start-up nature of Phoenix Solar Inc., must be a highly organized, self-started individual that is able
to multi-task, prioritize and manage several projects and initiatives at one time
• A tolerance for a start-up environment with little structure and a willingness to lead development of processes
and procedures
• A high level of personal integrity
