Sales Director, South East

Our growing Sales and Marketing Team needs the support of a highly motivated Sales Director. The Sales Director will report to the VP of Sales and she or he will be responsible for delivering required sales targets in one of the regions listed below. The ideal candidate will have sales experience from a solar or renewable energy company, possess strong communication skills, and be proven problem solver. This position could be located regionally in the South Central, South East, or Mid-West of the United States.

Reports to: VP of Sales and Marketing
Location: South East of the United States.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Work with the Sales & Marketing team to generate sales leads, respond to RFPs and undertake sector or industry research.
  • Lead generation through personal relationships, database research and cold-calling efforts.
  • Present value proposition to customer and possess strong negotiation skills to close deals.
  • Strong personal and relationship management skills to develop current and future pipeline.
  • Present qualified projects to internal management team for deal approval and thereafter execute an EPC contract with the customer.
  • Responsible for working with the customer to close projects and managing the relationship during construction of the project.
  • Participate in weekly sales calls to report sales efforts, trends and productivity.
  • Manage and prioritize daily work load.
  • Prepare and present weekly forecast to Sales & Marketing Group and VP of Sales.
  • Liaise with the Sales Directors, Sales Operations, and Sales & Marketing team to coordinate sales opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

Education
• Bachelor’s degree a minimum (MBA a plus) from an accredited college or university

Experience
• Minimum of 4 years sales management and closing experience required
• Knowledge of the solar industry is a bonus; experience in a high tech, construction, or renewable energy company highly preferred
• Knowledge of Project Development, PPAs, EPCs and other financing documents a plus.
• Effective demonstration of sales process; able to identify buying criteria, eliminate objections, and develop solutions to close the sale.

Business Tools
• Proficiency required in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Prior CRM usage a plus
