Highlander 2011 - Feel the Challenge

In harmony with the "Feel the Challenge" motto, Phoenix Solar AG sent four teams, each of five people, to the starting line in 2011 for the third year in a row.
Our team
Under the team names of "Sunpowered 1-4", 20 of our employees competed in the disciplines of swimming, in-line skating, bike racing, mountain biking and running with 900 other sportsmen and women. Fired with the enthusiasm typical of the Phoenix spirit and with the resounding support and cheers from the crowd of Phoenix Solar employees, the 20 athletes achieved results to be proud of.

The Highlander Challenge comes in two forms: a classic and a light variation, both of which should not be underestimated and demand huge fighting and team spirit.

Highlander Classic
The two Phoenix teams which completed the Classic version took a mere 11 hours and 37 minutes and 11 hours and 27 minutes apiece for 3 km of swimming, 20 km of in-line skating, 120 km of bike racing, 44 km of mountain biking and 20 km of running.

Highlander Light
The Light teams did 2 km of swimming, 13 km of in-line skating, 60 km of bike racing, 22 km of mountain biking and 10 km of running in 4 hours and 36 minutes and 5 hours and 40 minutes.
